A company that sells village candles could increase their income by participating in site promotions and Internet marketing methods.  Site promotions are very important once a website has gone live because the more people who view and visit a website means the more people who will likely visit the real world brick-and-mortar location and the more people who are likely to purchase something from either the real-world location or a website.

 

Website promotions include placing the website address on all paper products, return address labels, business cards, postcards, correspondence and letterhead paper in addition to e-mails and any type of letters going between a company and their customers.  Placing the website address on anything and everything a customer will see helps make sure a customer will visit the website and ultimately the brick-and-mortar real-world location and purchase something either in the real world location or through the website.

 

Once a website has been established and the site promotions have been put into place, a company should begin search engine optimization or SEO which is a free and automatic Internet marketing method.  Search engine optimization is the act of placing keyword rich articles on a website in order to attract the three major search engines – MSN, Yahoo!, and Google.  These major search engines send out their “feelers” in order to find the keywords and keyword phrases within the articles on the websites and then rank the websites according to a special formula.  Keywords and keyword phrases are the words consumers use in the search boxes on the search engines in order to find what they need or want.  For example, if someone needs to find hearing aids they would put the words hearing aids in one of the search boxes on a search engine and within seconds the search engine would bring back tens of thousands of listings for hearing aid companies.

 

Having a high ranking on the search engines is beneficial to a candles company because the majority of people who use search engines make their choice from the first few websites brought back by the major search engines.  These people feel that the first few website listings are the most popular and therefore are the best; however this is not always the case.

 

There are other ways to receive a high ranking on the search engine webpages and that is by placing the keyword rich article on an Internet news website to gain more customers in addition to helping re-rank a candle companies as search engine ranking.  Internet news websites are always looking for interesting, informative and well-written articles to place on their websites on slow news days and help their readers stay informed of new items that are on the market today.
